The Land of the Sand – poem

I am standing here
At the Edge of the World
The place some of you never heard
of
Wrapped in black as a sign of respect
You can wear what you wish, I checked,
But why disconnect or reject
What is part of this generous culture?
Anyway, what a view…
Happy I’m one of the few
Who will see it this way…
Feel so small, and too hard to portray
real scale of this scene,
But you know what I mean
Ahlan wa sahlan fee Saudi –
The land of the sand,
On which soil I stand,
Give it a chance to understand,
And you’ll be welcome,
Habibi, don’t worry,
And it will be one unforgettable story.
