Dubai Mallathon with Fujifilm Middle East

Want to go for a run, but don’t have a gym subscription and it’s just too hot outside? Go run in the mall. Any day for free, from 6 am to 10 am the malls are open for you to run at your leisure – just join the flow and go for it.

Last weekend, Fujifilm Middle East teamed up with the running club called Kyn Hybrid, and a coffee shop called Parkers to do a little athletic shoot. Nate Abundiente shared his insights on the challenges of the business, and Fujifilm provided equipment to try out.

Now, it is not really common to do athletes shoots in the shopping mall, but we found a decent neutral background and used our creativity to try and direct the guys in any interesting way.

I thought i’d try to do something creative and a bit blurred out, but in fact there just wasn’t that much space for it, and the xe-8 flash is not really strong enough for these kind of creative endeavours. Was fun anyway.

My main goal at this event was to go and chat to fellow photography enthusiasts. And even the guy that I tried to befriend run away eventually without saying good bye, I had a few good laughs with people and acquired new Insta friends.

To finish up, here is a no effort photo from Fuji X Half that I snapped on my way to the car.
