Howdy, sailors!
Happy New Whatever tickles your fancy.
We have celebrated the anniversary of the “Coffee and Cameras” Collective by walking the streets of the first “sort of” official collective walk. We also went to the Dubai Sunrise Beach again.
That first time I walked a photowalk with the three of us, my friend Omar gave me his Leica Q2, even though I brought my Fujifilm X100V. This time I brought the trusty Fujifilm and nobody was giving me any Leicas.
Somehow, I woke up at 4-30 and decided that I could as well go hit the beach before the proper sunrise starts, because that’s where the magic actually lies. As soon as the sun is coming too close to the horizon, all the colours just turn to yellow and orange and there are no nuances any more.

Here’s a shot on FujiX100V at 6:22 AM.

Here is a photo at 6:31, I thought maybe for a change I’ll include some beach into it…

This is 6:47, lots of lights on the buildings are off now and the sun is definitely not far away.

You would probably agree with me that 40 minutes before the sunrise is the most magical one – without any tricks you can get a breathtaking photo.
Of course, I did edit these all in Lightroom but I tried to stay sort of true to life and didn’t ask AI to clone out anything out of the photo. So the only manipulations are the colours.
Here is how it looked like without any lightroom edits:

Afterwards we took a hearty breakfast in one of the available cafes

and took a walk around the box park, where once again some security guy told us that we can’t really be shooting here without permits… but not that there was anything so much interesting to photograph there.
Hope you found this post interesting and thank you for sticking around.
Much love,
Anna
